Areas we cover across Scotland
Free surveys across Scotland
We arrange free surveys and quotes for homeowners across the whole of Scotland, from the Borders in the south to the Highlands and Islands in the north and west. Wherever you are, the process is the same: get in touch, we arrange a free survey, and you receive a written quote with no obligation to proceed. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, the simplest thing to do is send us your postcode using the form on the free quote page.
Glasgow & the Clyde Valley
Glasgow · Paisley · East Kilbride · Hamilton · Motherwell · Cumbernauld · Greenock · Dumbarton
A mix of tenement flats, post-war estates and modern developments. Roof access and shared ownership can be a consideration for tenements, and the survey covers this.
Edinburgh & the Lothians
Edinburgh · Livingston · Dunfermline · Bathgate · Dalkeith · Haddington · North Berwick
From stone-built Victorian villas to new-build estates. Listed buildings and conservation areas may have planning considerations, which the survey can flag.
Fife
Kirkcaldy · Dunfermline · St Andrews · Glenrothes · Cupar · Leven · Cowdenbeath
A mix of coastal towns and rural communities. Exposure to off-shore winds can affect panel layout, and the survey takes local conditions into account.
Tayside & Dundee
Dundee · Perth · Coupar Angus · Blairgowrie · Forfar · Arbroath · Montrose
Our home territory. Dundee's hillside properties and Perth's riverside homes each have their own considerations for roof orientation and shading.
Stirling & Central Scotland
Stirling · Falkirk · Grangemouth · Larbert · Alloa · Tillicoultry
A corridor of towns between Glasgow and Edinburgh, with a range of property types from historic stone to contemporary new-build.
The Highlands & Islands
Inverness · Aviemore · Nairn · Elgin · Fort William · Oban · Skye
Long summer days make solar particularly productive here, while winter demand runs high. Battery storage is especially valuable in more remote areas. Island and remote properties may take longer to schedule.
The North East
Aberdeen · Peterhead · Fraserburgh · Stonehaven · Inverurie · Banchory · Ellon
Granite city properties and coastal towns. The hard granite building stock can influence how cable runs and battery locations are planned.
The Scottish Borders
Galashiels · Hawick · Peebles · Kelso · Jedburgh · Selkirk · Duns
Rural and market-town communities where off-grid resilience and battery storage can be a particular benefit during winter storms.
Ayrshire & Arran
Ayr · Kilmarnock · Irvine · Troon · Largs · Saltcoats · Arran
Coastal exposure is a factor for some properties, and the survey considers wind exposure and salt air when advising on equipment.
Dumfries & Galloway
Dumfries · Stranraer · Kirkcudbright · Castle Douglas · Lockerbie · Newton Stewart
A large rural region where solar and storage can help households manage distance from the grid and variable supply.
Argyll & Bute
Helensburgh · Dunoon · Lochgilphead · Campbeltown · Tobermory · Islay
Peninsulas and islands where battery storage adds real resilience. Survey scheduling for island properties may take a little longer to arrange.
Clackmannanshire & the Ochils
Alloa · Clackmannan · Tillicoultry · Menstrie · Dollar · Tullibody
A compact area between the Central Belt and the Highlands, with hillside properties that can benefit from excellent solar orientation.
Scotland's varied housing stock
Scottish homes range from granite tenements in Aberdeen to stone-built cottages in the Borders, from post-war estates in the Central Belt to modern timber-frame builds in the Highlands. That variety matters for solar and battery installations, because what works on a south-facing new-build in Livingston may not be right for a west-facing Victorian villa in Glasgow's West End or a croft house on Skye. The free survey exists precisely to account for those differences — roof orientation, structural type, shading from neighbouring buildings, available space for a battery and the electrical setup all vary from home to home.
Scotland's latitude also plays a part. Long summer days mean solar panels can generate impressively during the middle of the year, while short winter days concentrate demand on the grid. Pairing panels with a battery lets you carry some of that summer surplus — or cheaper overnight grid electricity on a smart tariff — into the hours when you actually need it. For rural and island communities, where grid resilience can be more variable, a battery adds an extra layer of security as well as cost management.
